Assassin\u2019s Creed DLC won\u2019t form part of the main story arc of the game, but will instead be, in creative director Alex Hutchinson\u2019s words, a \u201cwhat the f*** chunk of story\u201d.<\/p>\n
Since the DLC won\u2019t be bought by everyone, the developers didn\u2019t want to confuse players for the next game by hinging on story not everyone had experienced.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Eurogamer, Hutchinson explained, “We know that not everyone will buy it, so it’s a ‘what the f***’ chunk of story that, if you missed it, the next game will still make sense.”<\/p>\n
Animation director Jonathan Cooper teased, “You will never guess what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re particularly intrigued with this piece of news, you will likely be able to pick up a season pass for the game \u2013 the first one the franchise has seen. While plans for the pass have been announced, what exactly you\u2019ll be getting has not.<\/p>\n
“It’s that early that we haven’t decided. There are debates as to where we draw the line in the various chunks [of the story],” Hutchinson explained.<\/p>\n
“And unlike some people we really don’t start work on it until the game is finished. It is not on the disc.”<\/p>\n
