Organised Chaos (OC) has been hosting large, monthly LAN (Local Area Network) parties in Cape Town since 2001, and has to date held well over 100 such events.<\/p>\n
In 2009, OC has seen over 5,000 attendees in total visit its numerous events at the Bellville Velodrome. Dietmar Rheeder-Kleist, Managing Partner of Organised Chaos, says that when “the numbers became clear, the decision to turn OC into more than just a LAN party became very evident”.<\/p>\n
“We have over 5,000 unique visitors in our database of attendees”, says Rheeder-Kleist, further stating that it is clear that OC LAN parties attract a broad variety of visitors and that videogames are merely one reason for their attendance.<\/p>\n
“Attendees are no longer merely coming to play games with and against one another on a large network, but come to OC with large groups of friends to socialise and entertain themselves with digital media ranging from videogames played on computers and PlayStations, to music and live DJ’s”, says OC’s Marketing Manager, Nadim Braun.<\/p>\n
“Future OC events will represent the celebration of the digital entertainment age”, says Rheeder-Kleist and states that attendees can expect many great things to come to OC in the weeks and months ahead.<\/p>\n
One such result is that OC will host its first ever event in Johannesburg at the popular MTN Expo Centre in Nasrec from 27 to 29 November.<\/p>\n
South Africa’s biggest digital party will host a 1,040 seat LAN (Local Area Network) for the last weekend of November and will share the grounds on Sunday, 29 November, alongside the annual Bikers Toy Run.<\/p>\n
OC promises to provide a fast and stable network for the weekend with lag-free game servers.<\/p>\n
Sponsors such as Frontosa and MSI with Pinnacle Micro will offer prizes worth thousands of Rands to lucky attendees with many more surprises expected to be announced closer to the event.<\/p>\n
