This weekend, the biggest gaming event in South Africa arrives on our doorstep, and the big attractions (as opposed to free stuff) are obviously the games.<\/p>\n

This year, the publishers are all bringing out their big guns, and while there\u2019s plenty of quality of games<\/a> to check out, what are the biggest games to look out for at the show?<\/p>\n

Need for Speed: Most Wanted<\/h3>\n

A lot of eyes are on Most Wanted to see if the reboot can get the Need for Speed series back on track, and EA\u2019s booth should be busy come this weekend.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Criterion have taken on the long-running racing series, as the studio handled the 2010 reboot of Hot Pursuit, which was acclaimed by critics and devoted NFS fans alike.<\/p>\n

As Criterion has said, Most Wanted isn\u2019t going to be about flashy cars and pristine racing, but rather smashing through the opposition and making last-minute escapes from the po-po.<\/p>\n

Need for Speed: Most Wanted will be at EA\u2019s stand at rAge this weekend.<\/p>\n

Assassins Creed 3 (playable)<\/h3>\n

Assassins Creed 3 will be causing crowds at rAge this weekend, and that\u2019s guaranteed.<\/p>\n

AC III will conclude the story of the series’ background hero, Desmond Miles, who relives memories through various throat-stabbing ancestors. ACIII will bring new tricks to the table, allowing Connor to use new weapons, such as tomahawks, as well as climbing and free-running in the wilderness and through buildings.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for some virtual throat-stabbing this weekend, Assassin\u2019s Creed III will be playable at the Ubisoft section of Megarom\u2019s stand throughout rAge 2012.<\/p>\n

Far Cry 3 (playable)<\/h3>\n

Far Cry 3 should be a big attraction at rAge this weekend, with Ubisoft clearly excited about the upcoming sequel.<\/p>\n

Playing as a stranded survivor, Far Cry 3 takes players back into the sun-kissed tropical setting the series is known for. Running on Ubisoft Montreal\u2019s impressive Dunia 2 engine, the game is set to feature a sandbox environment, allowing players to take advantage of their large open-world in order to approach situations in a number of ways \u2013 not to mention looking absolutely gorgeous. Far Cry 3 is one of MyGaming\u2019s most anticipated titles, and being playable at rAge 2012 puts big smiles on our faces.<\/p>\n

Tomb Raider (playable)<\/h3>\n

After some ups and downs, everyone\u2019s favourite treasure hunter is set to make a comeback, as Lara Croft is getting her much-needed reboot, and a 21 year-old Lara is thrown into the fight of her life as she is shipwrecked on an unknown island, forced to deal with excruciating emotional and physical pain to survive.<\/p>\n

Taking cues from Uncharted, Tomb Raider looks to offer a more cinematic experience than any other entry in the series and is one of the key games to look out for at rAge 2012.<\/p>\n

ZombiU<\/h3>\n

One of the most impressive, yet under-appreciated games of\u00a0the year has to be ZombiU, and although we\u2019ve seen a lot of undead survival experiences recently, ZombiU is a refreshing entry into the genre.<\/p>\n

Taking a jump from the traditional zombie settings of middle-America, ZombiU takes place in London at the height of (you guessed it) a zombie outbreak. The new setting provides interesting environments and locales for the mindless killing (or killing of the mindless?), and even adds some royal-class to the zombie slaying.<\/p>\n

After getting some hands-on time with the game, its only upped the excitement, and getting some more time with ZombiU at rAge will be an undoubted priority.<\/p>\n

Remember that there are plenty of other games to check out, along with some local talent<\/a> showing off what they\u2019ve got on offer. So head out to rAge this weekend and get involved.<\/p>\n
