A number of changes have been made to the movie currently being made which is based on the popular Warcraft universe.<\/p>\n
It would appear that the Sam Raimi directed movie will bear the title “Warcraft: The Rise of the Lich King”, and will be based on Christie Golden’s novel which goes by the same name. Golden’s novel heavily references Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos as well as The Frozen Throne.<\/p>\n
While no details have been released regarding plot or character specifics, it seems safe to guess that the movie will be based on the novel and will concentrate on Arthas Menethil, the once noble Paladin who driven to madness abandons the light and joins the Lich King.<\/p>\n
Blizzard previously announced that the Warcraft movie will not be an adventure movie in the vein of Lord of the Rings, but will be more of a “War movie”. “It will be told primarily from the Alliance point of view. The time of the movie is set about 1 year before World of Warcraft begins. The film is mainly about cultures in conflict. It won’t be an adventure movie like LoTR, more of a war film.” Said Blizzard at BlizzCon 2007.<\/p>\n
