{"id":4571,"date":"2009-10-06T12:24:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-06T10:24:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"call-of-duty-to-be-made-into-a-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/4571-call-of-duty-to-be-made-into-a-movie","title":{"rendered":"Call of Duty to be made into a movie?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It seems likely that yet another popular gaming franchise is to be made into a movie.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trademork.com\/call-of-duty\/\" target=\"_self\">Trademork<\/a> recently picked up that in late September Activision filed to protect that trademark &lsquo;Call of Duty&rsquo; in relation to &ldquo;pre-recorded movies featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure, music, theatrical performances and\/or animation&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>In May it was widely reported that a Call of Duty movie was being discussed for release in theatres globally. Despite this Activision CEO Bobby Kotick refused to comment and within a few weeks the controversy appeared to have been forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>It seems likely now that Activision is indeed planning to go ahead with a film adaptation to the game. Given the franchise&rsquo;s popularity this would appear to be a logical route to take.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/movies.ign.com\/articles\/103\/1031342p1.html\" target=\"_self\">IGN<\/a> has also revealed that Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling recently posted the following via his Twitter account. <br \/>&#8220;First round of meetings in Paris wrapped. Grabbing lunch with Xavier Gens, director of the Hitman film while in town. Talking game films.&rdquo; <br \/>This suggests that a Call of Duty movie may already be in the works.<\/p>\n<p>Any possibility that Call of Duty will be made into a film adaption is bound to divide opinion amongst gamers.
