<\/em><\/strong>The Call of Duty Elite service is going free for Black Ops II.<\/p>\n

The service, which offers star tracking, social options, monthly map updates and more, has previously been available (mostly) exclusively through a paid premium plan, but this has been dropped with Black Ops II.<\/p>\n

When gamers buy Black Ops II, they\u2019ll gain access to many of the perks that Elite offers, but it all sounds too good to be true.<\/p>\n

And partially, it is. Players won\u2019t automatically get early access to DLC anymore, and will have to buy one of those increasingly ubiquitous season passes for $50 (or 4,000 Microsoft Points) to get the expansions ahead of everyone else.<\/p>\n

This will give gamers access to four map packs throughout 2013. Each map pack would normally cost $15 each, but season pass holders will be able to grab them all for $50, saving a total of $10.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty Elite on Black Ops II will be available for SA, as confirmed by local Activision distributor Megarom.<\/p>\n

Black Ops II<\/a><\/strong> is set to launch worldwide on 13 November 2012.<\/p>\n
