Blizzard has announced that – surprise! – there’s an expansion pack for Diablo III.<\/p>\n
Blizzard president Mike Morhaime confirmed that the expansion is already on the studio’s schedule during a recent Acti-Blizz earnings call.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do have an expansion planned for Diablo, [but] I don\u2019t have any timeline to talk about. I think the most important thing for us always comes down to the quality of the expansion and the gameplay, so that will be a big factor in terms of driving our schedule,\u201d said Morhaime.<\/p>\n
In terms of the financials, Activision\u2019s report was optimistic, with Blizzard shipping 10 million copies of Diablo III, and accumulating net revenue of $841 million.<\/p>\n
Blizzard also revealed that StarCraft 2\u2019s long-awaited expansion, Heart of the Swarm, will release in the first half of 2013.<\/p>\n
