Rockstar have had to pull Grand Theft Auto: Vice City from all digital platforms after Sony kicked up a fuss over the use of a Michael Jackson song.<\/p>\n
The game has been pulled from Steam, and Rockstar made a post on the official Steam forum to explain.<\/p>\n
“Due to some music licensing issues, we’ve had to temporarily remove Vice City PC from digital stores,” a Rockstar spokesperson said. “We’ll make it available again as soon as possible.”<\/p>\n
People who had already purchased and downloaded the game will not be affected, they will still be allowed to re-download the game whenever they choose.<\/p>\n
While Rockstar themselves didn\u2019t officially confirm which track was responsible, news site Cinema Blend alleges it to be Michael Jackson\u2019s \u201cWanna be Startin\u2019 Something,\u201d which plays on the game\u2019s Fever 105 station.<\/p>\n
Sony Music Entertainment has reportedly blocked the use of the content on copyright grounds, thus Rockstar has been forced to suspend digital sales until the matter is resolved.<\/p>\n
Rockstar are planning an iOS and Android release of the game later this year, so I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll be looking to resolve this as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
