After being leaked through a few early listings by online retailers, Nintendo have just come out and announced the Wii Mini.<\/p>\n

Even with the rumours, the announcement is rather strange, regarding the company has a brand new console, the Wii U, which releases locally in South African stores on Friday, 30 November 2012.<\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s necessary or not, the console exists and will be sold exclusively in Canada for the meantime, at a price of CA$99 (around R882).<\/p>\n

The console itself will be cheaper as online functionality has been trimmed off, as well as the lack of media streaming services.<\/p>\n

There will be no backward compatibility with GameCube games, leaving the console as purely a dedicated Wii gaming machine.<\/p>\n

The console comes in two colours \u2013 red or black, along with a matching Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuck of your chosen colour.<\/p>\n

The console will be available for Canadian gamers on 7 December, and while there are no details on the Wii Mini making its way to other territories, the impending success of the console should promote Nintendo to get it across borders.<\/p>\n
