Following a minor spillage earlier this month<\/a>, plot details and concept art from Bungie’s new project, Destiny, have been leaked online.<\/p>\n

Cracks in the corporate secrecy plumbing come via an IGN exclusive, whose source provided material prepped by a third party advertising agency – and subsequently confirmed by Bungie, so you know it’s legit.<\/p>\n

According to the promo documents, Destiny’s basic premise is the same, comfortingly familiar man-versus-aliens stuff that Bungie made its name doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man\u2019s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it\u2019s here for, but only that it\u2019s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young \u2018knights\u2019 tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and \u2013 eventually \u2013 overcoming it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In response to the leak, Bungie released its own concept art, inviting fans to “Go ahead. Take a peek. It\u2019s alright. We\u00a0weren’t\u00a0quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can\u2019t wait to finally show you what\u00a0we’ve\u00a0really been up to. Stick around, we haven\u2019t even started yet.”<\/p>\n

The game is currently in development for PC, Xbox, and PS3 under the auspices of Activision, with no scheduled launch date.<\/p>\n
