In case you\u2019ve somehow missed it, acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro (who created mind-bending films such as Pan\u2019s Labyrinth) is working on a horror video game, entitled inSANE. After being dropped by THQ due to their major financial issues, del Toro had been shopping the game around to other developers \u2013 and it looks like he\u2019s found one.<\/p>\n
“We were going to go to a lot of developers after THQ, but it seems like we’re going to be developing it after the first meeting we had,” del Toro said. “I can’t disclose where it was, but we went to a great developer on the first meeting and it seems that they’re picking it up because they love the package.”<\/p>\n
Del Toro did mention at New York\u2019s Comic-Con that his ideal developer would be Valve, as he is a huge fan of their games, particularly Portal and Left 4 Dead. But of course Valve is still too busy working on Half-Life 3, right? …Right?<\/p>\n
The developer and the release date are both a big question mark, but as for the latter \u2013 don\u2019t expect the game anytime soon.<\/p>\n
“We put a good year and a half into it and we have the universe quite figured out, but we are now going to take that and start doing all the leg work with coding it, creating the engine, and starting to test it,” del Toro said. “It’s going to take a good two years of modelling and rendering and creating the environments and all of that.”<\/p>\n
