The climax to the Mass Effect trilogy lived up to the hype this year, as ME3 was acclaimed by gamers and critics.<\/p>\n
The third instalment in Commander Shepherd\u2019s adventure proved that Bioware could up the scale and action, even after the phenomenal Mass Effect 2.<\/p>\n
Not to mention Commander Shepard being nothing short of an intergalactic hero\/ine. The wo\/man managed to defeat multiple alien races, while still finding time to help out the crew and engage in some inter-species love-making (if that\u2019s your thing).<\/p>\n
Everyone was expecting a lot from Far Cry 3, but Ubisoft Montreal managed to blow away expectations with ease.<\/p>\n Far Cry 3 improved upon the bugs from its predecessor, and made itself bigger and better in every way.<\/p>\n A deep and involving storyline, edge-of-your-seat action, and more freedom than anything in the genre, Far Cry 3 stands out among the best Xbox 360 games of 2012.<\/p>\n Trials was one of those games that developed an instant cult following, so when the sequel was announced, mouths began watering.<\/p>\n Trials Evolution released and was exactly what the name promised \u2013 an evolution. The game featured bigger and trickier levels, better physics, and multiplayer; not to mention that players could create their own levels through a great editing system.<\/p>\n RedLynx, we salute you.<\/p>\n Mark of the Ninja surprised us from out of the shadows (fittingly), and impressed the hell out of people when it touched down on Xbox Live Arcade.<\/p>\n Besides looking gorgeous with its hand-drawn visuals, the 2D platformer also featured awesome gameplay, requiring players to sneak and slash their way through environments, taking out guards and solving puzzles along the way.<\/p>\n Players also have to be extra careful as the game features a line-of-sight mechanic where, if enemies can\u2019t see you, you can\u2019t see them.<\/p>\n Critics praised the game extensively, winning many editor\u2019s choice awards across the gaming media.<\/p>\n Which of these games have you played this year?
