There’s nothing like a good old in-game holiday event to help ease some of the monotony sometimes experienced in World of Warcraft. Even more exciting is when Blizzard introduces a totally new holiday for players to feast on. And feast they will in this one!<\/p>\n
In a nutshell, Pilgrim’s Bounty is one massive cook-a-thon inspired by the American holiday of Thanksgiving. Players can expect to partake in cooking, food fights and turkey hunts.<\/p>\n
In order to get started, you’ll want to make your way to a Feasting Area in one of your faction’s capital cities. These are usually situated right outside the entrance to the cities in question. There, talk to a Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor and purchase a Bountiful Cookbook from them. The book in question will contain the 5 cooking recipes needed to take part in the event. A cooking skill of 330 is needed to cook the hardest of recipes, and ingredients won’t be an issue as they can be bought from the same vendor you bought your book from.<\/p>\n
The core element of Pilgrim’s Bounty is daily quests. Among the rewards for these are the Turkey Shooter and Pilgrim’s Clothing, which is similar to the clothing used in Brewfest, for example. Both are quite easy to get and will be used for other event activities.<\/p>\n
Also in the Feasting Area will be a feasting table. The table in question is used in acquiring a number of achievements that come along with the event. For example, should someone else be sitting at the table with you, you can start a food fight. Sitting at a table in an enemy city will garner you another achievement. There are also achievements for eating and passing along dishes.<\/p>\n
Last but not least, is turkey hunting. No Thanksgiving-inspired event would be complete without turkeys, of course. You can find turkeys for the hunt in Elwynn Forest and Tirisfal Glades. There’s an achievement for this too, which involves you killing 40 turkeys in a row, without the 30-second buff you receive for killing a turkey expiring. So essentially you need to kill at least one turkey every 30 seconds until you’ve killed 40. Turkeys will also loot you Wild Turkey, which is used in the cooking dailies.<\/p>\n
Overall, the event is a great addition to the game and will certainly be welcomed by players. Blizzard has to make sure that they don’t add too many events, however, as that could result in the novelty wearing off.<\/p>\n
