Mark of the Ninja PC has sneakily appeared<\/a> on the SA Steam store page, and true to stealth form, this even came as a bit of a surprise to developer Klei Entertainment.<\/p>\n

Having launched for PC in other parts of the globe on 16 October 2012, the game was absent due to a hold-up at South Africa\u2019s Film and Publications Board (FPB), the regulatory body that must approve all games for sale in South Africa, digital or physical. This was according to Klei.<\/p>\n

Following a 3 January\u00a0article lamenting its absence<\/a>, there was a bit of twitter activity from the FPB, who contacted Klei Entertainment following up on the situation.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the sudden listing of the game on Steam, Klei community manager Corey Rollins said: “Just found out today, from a fan on Twitter. We never actually heard anything from FPB outside of that one employee who reached out on Twitter.”<\/p>\n

Discussing the delay in rating, Rollins said “It’s simply part of the process of shipping a game. Whether you’re an\u00a0independent\u00a0developer or a large AAA publisher, it’s always going to be unfortunate when delays do occur.” On the topic of piracy due to the unavailability of the game, Rollins said that it is not a measurable problem.<\/p>\n

“Everyone has been really understanding of the situation, so big thanks to those who were patiently waiting,” said Rollins.<\/p>\n
