Console gamers can prepare for a number of platform exclusives coming this year. These include Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Beyond: Two Souls, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Rayman Legends,and Gears of War: Judgment.<\/p>\n

It is interesting to note that so Xbox 360 gamers only have one big-name exclusive to look forward to this year (so far).<\/p>\n

Gears of War: Judgment – Xbox 360 (19 March 2013)<\/h3>\n

Gears of War: Judgment\u2019s prequel setting will chronicle the events of E-Day breaking out, when the Locust first attacked Sera. While the game will revolve around the Alpha Squad disobeying orders and the impending trial, don\u2019t expect to spend much time in the courtroom, as the new game is described as a non-stop action romp. Damon Baird and Augustus Cole are the protagonists in Judgment.<\/p>\n

The game will play out through flashbacks, leading us to assume we\u2019ll get insight into the desertion and war-crimes supposedly committed by Alpha Squad, and why the group may have neglected their duty. The backdrop will then be the testimony that the Squad has to give in their defense.<\/p>\n

People Can Fly are promising to deliver a true Gears experience, with an intense campaign and beefed-up multiplayer component.<\/p>\n

Rayman Legends – Wii U (28 February 2013)<\/h3>\n

Rayman Legends will look to follow-up the stellar, but underrated, Rayman Origins, which released in 2012.<\/p>\n

The upcoming platforming adventure is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, and is currently scheduled to release on\u00a0Wii U.<\/p>\n

The game will utilise the new\u00a0Pro Controller\u00a0and Wii U\u2019s new touch-screen GamePad, as players can manipulate platforms and the environment using touch, along with a special character created purely to use the functionality of the Wii U GamePad.<\/p>\n

The Last of Us – PS3 (7 May 2013)<\/h3>\n

The Last of Us takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, following a viral outbreak which wiped out most of humanity.<\/p>\n

The world is now an overgrown mess as nature reclaims the land. Players will take on the role of Joel, as he has to escort a young girl named Ellie to a particular quarantined zone.<\/p>\n

Both characters will come into play, allowing Joel to command and assist Ellie in helping the two on their journey.<\/p>\n

Developed by Naughty Dog (Uncharted series), The Last of Us also features gorgeous visuals \u2013 something that the studio is known for. Visceral and brutal combat is on offer to make the steel-stomached gamers cringe.<\/p>\n

God of War: Ascension – PS3 (15 March 2013)<\/h3>\n

God of War III boasted some some stellar visuals that still hold strong today, and Ascension is aiming to top that in 2013.<\/p>\n

Kratos, while appearing a little more tanned due to not being covered in his family\u2019s ashes, is looking detailed like never before. The environments look great, things move in a silky-smooth fashion and the game just has that \u201cshine\u201d that Sony Santa Monica is known for delivering.<\/p>\n

Competitive multiplayer should also add a new element to the gameplay, as for a first-time in the series, players will be able to create their own warrior, select a god to worship and take to a number of different arenas in order to battle it out for supremacy.<\/p>\n

Beyond: Two Souls – PS3 (Q1 2013)<\/h3>\n

Following on from Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream\u2019s new game, Beyond: Two Souls, is no typical murder mystery, as the game features supernatural elements to highlight the dramatic psychological thriller undertone to the action.<\/p>\n

Academy Award nominee Ellen Page (Inception) stars as the main character, Jodie Holmes, and provided voice and motion capture for the role.<\/p>\n

The story revolves around Jodie\u2019s psychic link with an invisible entity, which grants her extraordinary supernatural powers. Jodie will apparently be trotting across the globe in her adventures, and players will be able to control both her and her psychic entity.<\/p>\n

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – PS3 (27 March 2013)<\/h3>\n

The Sly Cooper series has to be one of the most consistent franchises around, with the InFamous developer SuckerPunch always delivering.<\/p>\n

The team behind the HD trilogy collection, Sanzaru Games, are now handling the thieving racoon\u2019s latest adventure, Thieves in Time, and things are looking as promising as ever.<\/p>\n

Sly can now don some new special costumes, granting him new abilities, such as using a shield and shooting arrows to create rope lines. Sly\u2019s ancestors will also make an appearance and are playable in a number of levels and scenarios.<\/p>\n
