The big-screen adaptation of Ubisoft\u2019s Assassin\u2019s Creed has finally locked down a screenwriter.<\/p>\n

Michael Lesslie, who is relatively unknown in the industry, will pen the script.<\/p>\n

While Lesslie doesn\u2019t have the biggest name in the business, he has written scripts for short films, including Skirt and Heavy Metal Drummer.<\/p>\n

In July 2012, it was revealed that Michael Fassbender<\/a> (X-Men: First Class, Prometheus) has signed-up to star and produce.<\/p>\n

New Regency president and CEO Brad Weston said working with Fassbender on Steve McQueen\u2019s 12 Years a Slave made the partnership on Assassin\u2019s Creed “more irresistible”.<\/p>\n

“We wanted to do everything we could to secure the rights to \u2018Assassin\u2019s Creed, which Ubisoft has maintained with such care and quality over the years,” said Weston.<\/p>\n
