Deep Silver has apologised for a collector\u2019s item that comes with the recently announced Zombie Bait premium bundle for Dead Island: Riptide. The \u201cUltra collectible\u201d version of the upcoming zombie-brawling sequel includes a woman\u2019s mutilated, bikini-clad, headless torso.<\/p>\n
According to Deep Silver, the statue is a “grotesque take on an iconic Roman marble torso sculpture,\u201d which would \u201cmake a striking conversation piece on any discerning zombie gamer\u2019s mantel.\u201d<\/p>\n
Well, the internet erupted, and after a lot of negative community feedback, Deep Silver has apologised for the over-the-top bust.<\/p>\n
“We sincerely regret this choice,” the company said. “We are collecting feedback continuously from the Dead Island community, as well as the international gaming community at large, for ongoing internal meetings with Deep Silver’s entire international team today. \u201c<\/p>\n
\u201cFor now, we want to reiterate to the community, fans and industry how deeply sorry we are, and that we are committed to making sure this will never happen again.”<\/p>\n
