A German tabloid is attempting to link a murder to video games.<\/p>\n

A 31-year old woman was killed by a teenager after being stabbed with a katana 18 times, and the tabloid posted pictures of the killer, Marco F (last name withheld), “cosplaying as his favourite\u00a0Final Fantasy\u00a0character.”<\/p>\n

The character Marco was cosplaying as is not from Final Fantasy, and instead from another RPG, The World Ends With You.<\/p>\n

Another publication,\u00a0Abendzeitung<\/a>, also posted Marco\u2019s alleged Final Fantasy XIV profile, which reveals that he seldomly played the game.<\/p>\n

Trying to tie the murder to Final Fantasy appears to be a fair stretch for the German tabloids to link violence to gaming.<\/p>\n
