EA has confirmed that the next instalment into the Battlefield series will be released in 2014.<\/p>\n
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said \u201c”will be launching a Battlefield game next year,\u201d and the publisher is “very excited to show you guys more detail on that coming soon.”<\/p>\n
Speaking at EA\u2019s third-quarter financial call, Gibeau didn\u2019t add much else, but did say that EA is \u201cnot announcing an annualization of Battlefield at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Now there are no details on whether this will be Battlefield 4, Bad Company 3, or something completely different; however, it is reasonable to assume its BF4.<\/p>\n
The news of Battlefield 4 originally appeared through a pre-order incentive for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which is said to give adopters an early beta access to the next BF game.<\/p>\n
DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson also confirmed that Battlefield 4 will once again be set in \u201cpresent times\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe still want to stay in this genre, the modern day as it is. We feel this is a place we can be and continue with the series. Battlefield 4 can live in this space and be very successful,\u201d Troedsson added.<\/p>\n
