Sony\u2019s acquision of cloud gaming company Gaikai could be put to good use, as reports suggest that the Playstation 4 will stream PS3 games using the service.<\/p>\n

Sources close to The Wall Street Journal have claimed that Gaikai technology will allow current-gen games to be streamed, which will remedy the lack of backwards compatibility \u2013 another element rumoured with the PS4.<\/p>\n

Sony purchased Gaikai in 2012 for a reported $380 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy combining Gaikai\u2019s resources including its technological strength and engineering talent with SCE\u2019s extensive game platform knowledge and experience, SCE will provide users with unparalleled cloud entertainment experiences,\u201d said SCE president Andrew House at time of the purchase.<\/p>\n
