While EA\u2019s new free-to-play Command & Conquer game revisits the Generals fiction of the franchise, Victory Games has said that the Tiberium and Red Alert universes will be seen again.<\/p>\n
Speaking in an interview, senior development director Tim Morten said that the team is planning on revisiting the famed C&C universes, along with exploring some new ones.<\/p>\n
“Over time we’re planning to add factions to that universe and explore the Tiberium universe, the Red Alert universe, and then get into completely new fictions; so it’s very exciting for us, it’s kind of a starting point for a whole new C&C.”<\/p>\n
When it was announced that Generals 2 was getting a name-change and switching to a free-to-play online game, fans were worried that there would be no single-player campaign; but Morten also assured gamers that their pleas have been heard.<\/p>\n
“At launch, players will have the ability to play single player Skirmish against AI. There’ll also be a co-op Onslaught mode against waves of AI. Longer term we want to start exploring mini campaigns, perhaps even more fully-fledged campaigns. We got the message loud and clear that that is something the audience cares about so we don’t want to let them down in any way.”<\/p>\n
Command & Conquer is being developed exclusively by Bioware Victory for PC, and is expected to be released sometime in 2013.<\/p>\n
