The announcement ties up months of cryptic clues left by Hideo Kojima.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, The Phantom Pain will be the first game running on the new FOX engine, developed by Kojima Productions, and published by Konami. Hideo Kojima will be at the helm, writing, directing, and designing the game with his team.<\/p>\n<p>During his GDC 2013 announce, Kojima confirmed that the previously teased Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is part of Metal Gear Solid V.<\/p>\n<p>The game is being developed for PS3 and Xbox 360. Previously uncovered job listings suggested that it could be released for PC at some stage, and indeed, during his live gameplay demo at GDC 2013, Kojima said the game was running off a PC. Kojima has also previously hinted that the game coudl see a next-gen console release.<\/p>\n<p>Big Boss is back as the protagonist and this time he gets to action-stealth it up in an open world environment.<\/p>\n<p>The announce trailer is below, and in it we learn that Big Boss awakens after a nine-year coma, and he&#8217;s also got a shiny new hook for a hand. The trailer shows off the FOX engine&#8217;s capabilities, with high-quality visuals and a claimed &#8220;seamless integration of gameplay and cut scenes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"
