Crytek has become known to always deliver on the graphical front of its games, and while some may think that graphics can overshadow a focus on gameplay, the company\u2019s CEO assures that the graphical push assists the gameplay aspect of its titles.<\/p>\n
“People say that graphics don’t matter,” said Cevat Yerli, “but play Crysis and tell me they don’t matter. It’s always been about graphics driving gameplay.”<\/p>\n
Yerli went into some specifics, saying that certain graphical elements can bolster the gameplay experience, such as Crysis 3\u2019s dynamic vegetation, which can help locate enemy movement by the way that the grass moves.<\/p>\n
“Graphics, whether it’s lighting or shadows, puts you in a different emotional context and drives the immersion,” Yerli said. “And immersion is effectively the number one thing we can use to help you buy into the world.”<\/p>\n
