{"id":52856,"date":"2013-04-16T15:40:53","date_gmt":"2013-04-16T13:40:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=52856"},"modified":"2013-04-16T15:47:47","modified_gmt":"2013-04-16T13:47:47","slug":"most-violent-gaming-moments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/features\/52856-most-violent-gaming-moments","title":{"rendered":"Most violent gaming moments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Given the recent controversy surrounding the violence in Bioshock Infinite being \u201cmisplaced\u201d, we decided to look at some of the goriest and most violent moments in recent gaming history.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Kratos takes on Hermes<\/h3>\n<p>Kratos has a knack for decimating all his opponents, and one in particular suffered an incredibly painful demise.<\/p>\n<p>When Kratos finally gets hold of the quick and cunning Hermes, the Ghost of Sparta decides that he wants some speedy boots of his own, and commences to rip the limbs right off the arrogant god for his own use. Even though he\u2019s a bit of a dick, watching Hermes crawl away in agony is quite hard to watch.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LtaOLQp6jJM\" height=\"338\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Dead Space 2 \u2013 &#8220;stick a needle in my eye&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>The death animations in the Dead Space series are highly talked about, but there\u2019s one that takes the cake.<\/p>\n<p>During Dead Space 2\u2019s later stages, you\u2019re faced with the task of lowering a needle into Isaac\u2019s eye, and of course, there\u2019s two outcomes here. If you fail to line up the needle right, the entire machine comes down and impales Isaac through the skull. It\u2019s as bad to watch as it is to read.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/L4XHInbnBk8\" height=\"338\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Mortal Kombat \u2013 Kung Lao\u2019s fatality<\/h3>\n<p>Neatherealm Studios\u2019 Mortal Kombat reboot features some of the most brutal and bloody fatalities, but Kung Lao\u2019s has to be one of the hardest to watch.<\/p>\n<p>Using his signature razer sharp hat, Kung Lao places his hat in the ground, and drags his enemy (crotch first) over his spinning hat\/accessory of death.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JnXEdw-THpc\" height=\"338\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Resident Evil 4 \u2013 chainsaw death<\/h3>\n<p>One of the most intense deaths comes in one of the best games of last generation, when Leon Kennedy comes face to face with a chainsaw-wielding baddie in Resident Evil 4.<\/p>\n<p>If the enemy manages to get hold of you, he will put his devastating tree-cutter into Leon\u2019s shoulder, tearing him to pieces before you\u2019re faced with the doom-filled death screen, or, alternatively, he\u2019ll just hack your head off in quick and swift swipe.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cC3Gil_8-dA\" height=\"338\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Tomb Raider \u2013 spike death<\/h3>\n<p>While its not the most bloody and over-the-top death in games, its one of the most cringe-worthy. The realism of the game along with Lara\u2019s feminine qualities make the death so much worse, as she wriggles and struggles to remove herself from an inevitable death.
