Most people see the title Resident Evil: Revelations and look the other way, partially due to it being related to a handheld game, or not seeing a numerical value signifying a full sequel. Well, pay attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

Resident Evil: Revelations HD is revamped version of the original 3DS game, and brings a unique Resi game to console and PC gamers.<\/p>\n

The game allows you to jump around form a number of characters\u2019 perspectives, playing as Jill Valentine and Parker Luciani as one partnership, and Chris Redfield and Jessica Sherawat as another, in the events taking place between Resident Evil 4 and 5.<\/p>\n

\"Resident<\/a><\/p>\n

The antagonists are the bioterrorist group, Veltro, who have commandeered a ship in the middle of the ocean. As you can expect, the ship is crawling with some under-the-bed monsters and things you wouldn\u2019t want to share a French-kiss with, so it\u2019s up to you to eradicate the problem and get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding Veltro\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n

While many fans have been torn between the over-the-top action of more recent Resident Evil games, Revelations is somewhat of a throwback to the older RE games. It\u2019s not a complete retro revival though, as it plays out more like Resident Evil 4 \u2013 so it has that action-focused element, although conserving ammo and more horror make up the bulk of the gameplay mechanics.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll creep through more claustrophobic corridors, solve tougher puzzles and be forced to explore little more \u2013 features that old-school Resident Evil fans will be familiar with.<\/p>\n

\"Resident<\/p>\n

In combat, accuracy will be vital due to the low ammo counts. This returns the tension and risk that Resident Evil became famous for; thankfully you\u2019re accompanied by a partner to help you out for most portions of the game. Unfortunately, there\u2019s no co-op for the campaign.<\/p>\n

Where co-op does exist is in the game\u2019s Raid Mode, which allows players to team up and take on hordes of Revelation\u2019s most menacing creatures. These types of modes have become standard fair in most games today, and Revelations offers a number of difficulty levels and additional characters to keep you busy away from the campaign.<\/p>\n

Graphically, the game is impressive for a handheld-to-console jump. Besides the odd blocky-looking door handle or environmental object, you\u2019ll be surprised that this was even a 3DS game in the first place. The characters and monsters look great and you\u2019ll immediately question why this was never on consoles from the start.<\/p>\n

\"Resident<\/p>\n

The small taste of Resident Evil: Revelations that I got has me excited to get some more T-Virus exterminating action, and if the game can hold up to the intense sequences already seen, then there may be a horror-filled sleeper hit waiting for console and PC gamers.<\/p>\n

Resident Evil: Revelations will launch on Xbox360, Playstation 3 and PC on 24 May 2013.<\/p>\n
