A concerned gamer has been refunded by Valve following a complaint that he found Bioshock: Infinite to be blasphemous.<\/p>\n
Breen Malmberg, a devoted Christian, wrote a letter to Valve,\u00a0explaining\u00a0that the specific baptism scene in the opening sequences of Bioshock: Infinite caused a moral dilemma for him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI cannot play it because at the very beginning of the game there is a section of the game that is so offensive to my religious beliefs that I cannot proceed with it any further,\u201d said Malmberg. \u201cI did not know this section of the game was there and had no way of knowing it was there before-hand as it was not shown in any trailers, previews, screenshots or other marketing material.\u201d<\/p>\n
Malmberg said that he requires a refund because the scene in the game goes against his religious beliefs, and what\u2019s worse is that he had no choice in the matter.<\/p>\n
The distraught gamer compared the scenario to that of the offensive \u201cNo Russian\u201d sequence in Modern Warfare 2, but the difference being that Infinity Ward warned gamers before-hand, and allowed users to skip the level if it was too offensive.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish to return\/exchange this game (Bioshock Infinite) for steam credit or refund on the grounds that I cannot play it,\u201d proclaimed Malmberg.<\/p>\n
Valve reportedly refunded Malmberg for his purchase.<\/p>\n
Other gamers expressed their views on Twitter regarding the complaint, with many of them saying it was relevant to the game, while some overlooked it completely.<\/p>\n
