Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has spoken out regarding the recent Boston bombings, saying that he thinks violence in movies and games has a serious effect on society.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do think the movies influence, I hate to say it, on our societies,\u201d said Brosnan. \u201cAnd the games, which deal with killing, which our kids play these days have a strong, twisted effect,\u201d<\/p>\n
The 59 year-old actor said that he tries to protect his three sons (Sean, 29, Dylan, 16, and Paris, 12) from violent games.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t let those games in the house, but the boys do get them because they go to other kids’ homes.<\/p>\n
Brosnan played the legendary spy in four films, racking-up a bodycount of 135 people throughout his time as the secret agent from 1995 to 2004.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe kill ratio in movies is overwhelming and I never really took the violence in the Bond movies too seriously, the plot was not so real,\u201d added Brosnan. \u201cWe are a violent race without question and now what we can do with computer graphics is terrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brosnan also went on to describe the gun laws in the US as \u201cabsolutely crazy and out of control.\u201d<\/p>\n
