Sega has announced the Theatre of War mode for the upcoming Company of Heroes 2, along with some details on the new mode.<\/p>\n

The famed strategy series\u2019 new addition sees the Theatre of War mode bringing some separate special and unique single-player and co-operative content for players, which will complement the campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe get a lot of requests from fans to showcase specific conflicts from the war and it isn\u2019t always possible to fit these into the campaign,\u201d said Greg Wilson, producer of Company of Heroes 2. \u201cTheater of War gives us the opportunity to deliver these new gameplay experiences to our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mode includes solo challenges where players are pitted against overwhelming odds, AI battles against an enemy commander with a unique play style, and co-operative scenarios for fans to enjoy with their friends. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cTheater of War acts as a perfect bridge between the game\u2019s single and multiplayer content providing a high level of re-playability and helping to introduce traditionally solo players to the online elements of the game,\u201d said Quinn Duffy, CoH2\u2019s game director.<\/p>\n

Officially announced back in May, the sequel will feature a new campaign following the battles across the Eastern Front of Europe in World War II, the new Essence 3.0 Engine, and a \u2018True Sight\u2019 game mechanic, in which players will only be able to see what their controlled soldiers see, leaving what may be behind the next building or treeline unknown.<\/p>\n

Company of Heroes 2 will release on 25 June 2013 for PC.<\/p>\n
