One of the big plusses of being a PC gamer is the ability to download and use mods to lengthen and add some new excitement to your favourite games, but there often are hurdles to overcome. Gmod is a new mod-management tool that aims to make the mod-enabling process a breeze.<\/p>\n
Gmod was crafted by Olympus Games which will help mods work \u201cfaster, safer, and easier than ever before\u201d by taking out all unzipping and complications of adding a mod.<\/p>\n
Gmod has been in closed beta for the past few months, running on games such as GTA 4, Skyrim, Torchlight, and Fallout: New Vegas; with the team now looking to support World of Warcraft, Half-Life 1 and 2, Minecraft, and the Thief series.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been pounding the code for more than two years constructing a system that will support all mod types for all games,\u201d said the Gmod team, \u201cand we\u2019re almost complete!\u201d<\/p>\n
Gmod\u2019s management client allows users to activate automatic syncing, one-click enabling and disabling of mods, find and share mods with other users, and also allows for mods to be used from any source, unlike the Steam Workshop, which only uses Steam games.<\/p>\n
Gmod is looking for support from the community through a Kickstarter campaign<\/a>, which is seeking $75,000. One can access the beta client for $5, offering up $15 will give you beta access and a year-long subscription.<\/p>\n
