Blizzard recently released a new patch for Diablo III, and players found that the new fix had in fact broken the game\u2019s gold resource restrictions.<\/p>\n
Patch 1.0.8 initially allowed players to exploit a flaw that let them duplicate gold \u2013 this bug was then suggested to be exploitable in the real-money auction house.<\/p>\n
Blizzard then responded by taking the in-game auction houses offline to stop and avoid any further exploitation of the bug. Blizzard has since put the servers back online.<\/p>\n
Blizzard is currently reviewing the accounts that were involved in the exploits, and is looking at temporary locks, suspensions, and\/or bans as punishment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’ve been able to successfully identify players who duplicated gold by using this specific bug, and are focusing on these accounts to make corrections.\u201d<\/p>\n
