Sony has posted a profit in its 2012 fiscal year end report, showing good signs for the company which has undergone some troubles in recent times.<\/p>\n
The company recorded sales and operating revenue at 6.8 trillion yen ($72.3-billion), and a net income of 43 billion yen ($424.2-million), which are up from the year before.<\/p>\n
While Sony\u2019s financials look more favourably than recent years, the games division did see a decline from the year before, as Sony posted a smaller 1.7 billion yen ($16.8 million) sales income for the fiscal year 2012.<\/p>\n
Sony attributed the results to \u201cgains associated with sales of assets undertaken as a part of Sony\u2019s efforts to transform its business portfolio and strengthen its financial structure.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sony expects sales to increase \u201csignificantly\u201d for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2014.<\/p>\n
