Microsoft has cancelled the round-table press Q&A sessions that were scheduled to take place following their E3 presentations, where Microsoft would address questions from various video game journalists.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, due to some changes in our executives\u2019 schedules \u2013 including some external industry and partner sessions \u2013 we are no longer able to offer the Core Roundtable session on Monday June 10 at 11:30am,\u201d said Microsoft in an e-mail, reported by Steve Tilley of the Toronto Sun.<\/p>\n
Many internet users assumed the cancellation to be a strategy by Microsoft to avoid questions on the Xbox One, but Tilley explains that post-E3 Q&A sessions are actually unusual, and it’s no surprise that it won\u2019t be happening.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis doesn\u2019t mean Microsoft plans to duck all questions during E3. Far from it,\u201d explained Tilley. \u201cLots of journalists, including myself, have interviews lined up with various Xbox executives during E3. Lots and LOTS of questions will be asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, does ditching the roundtable right after the press conference mean Microsoft will have a better chance of controlling the Xbox One messaging for at least the first day or so? Sure, and judging from all the crossed wires and conflicting quotes at the Xbox One reveal in Redmond last month, that might not be a bad thing,\u201d added Tilley.<\/p>\n
