ADSL subscribers across South Africa\u00a0have reported ADSL downtime on Friday 7 June 2013. The problems started around 15:30, and early indications suggest that it is a\u00a0nationwide outage affecting all ADSL customers across all service providers.<\/p>\n

Some users reported that their ADSL lines sync, but that they are experiencing authentication problems.<\/p>\n

MWEB ISP CEO Derek Hershaw said that they are aware of a nationwide ADSL outage, but the cause of the outage is unknown.<\/p>\n

Telkom confirmed that they are experiencing ADSL problems in some areas, and that their staff is attending to the problems.<\/p>\n

Telkom said that more details will be provided after they ascertained the cause and extent of the outage.<\/p>\n

Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shortly before 16:00 on Friday users reported that their ADSL was coming back online. This included subscribers from MWEB and Telkom.<\/p>\n
