The driver has been found to prevent the graphics card&rsquo;s cooling fan from spinning, and a number of users from around the world have reported that their cards are overheating, and in some instances they have even caused the cards to die completely.<\/p>\n<p>The problems were first publicised via Blizzards forum during the beta testing of StarCraft II.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brightsideofnews.com\/news\/2010\/3\/4\/nvidia-retracts-whql-certified-gpu-killing-drivers.aspx \" target=\"_blank\">Brightsideofnews<\/a>&nbsp; that &#8220;We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.com. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers.
