The chaos of E3 has finally died down, and while we\u2019ve had a closer look at all the big games that impressed at the show<\/a>, let\u2019s now consider some surprising omissions.<\/p>\n

Doom 4<\/h3>\n

Prior to E3, Bethesda had posted an update on the development status of Doom 4, lending to the idea that maybe – just maybe – something Doom related would pop up at E3.<\/p>\n

Well, there was nothing. No news from Bethesda on the long-awaited sequel, which is now scheduled for next-gen consoles.<\/p>\n

If you want something to direct anger towards, look at id Software\u2019s other project Rage, which was said to have caused the id team to neglect Doom 4 during the development of Rage.<\/p>\n

\"Doom<\/p>\n

The Last Guardian<\/h3>\n

Shadow of the Colossus is still one of the greatest games in recent generations, and its spiritual successor, The Last Guardian, has been over-sleeping the E3 alarm clock for a number of years now.<\/p>\n

The trailer released two years ago is all we\u2019ve seen of the game up to this point, and Team ICO are being very quiet on the title. The team\u2019s last release was the Shadow of the Colossus\/ICO HD collection, assuming that it would be a precursor to a Last Guardian E3 reveal, although, it was another no-show, again.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

Rainbow Six: Patriots<\/h3>\n

The next big instalment into the Rainbow Six series was completely absent from Ubisoft\u2019s E3 showing. No one was expecting a big gameplay blowout, given that the only bits of the game we’ve seen are from a pre-rendered, pre-alpha project (which looked incredible), but seeing a little something or hearing any details regarding the yet-to-be-dated tactical shooter would\u2019ve scratched our itch for a while.<\/p>\n

Ubisoft did recently say that they intentionally didn\u2019t show Patriots, because the publisher wanted to focus on their other games at E3.<\/p>\n

\"Rainbow<\/a><\/p>\n

Alan Wake 2<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s inevitable that an Alan Wake sequel will arrive at some point, although the rumours heated up in the days leading up to the E3 expo, with a bunch of mysterious and Alan Wake-ish tweets coming out from writers and developers of the original game.<\/p>\n

Alan Wake 2 never made an appearance, and instead we got a closer look at Quantum Break, Remedy\u2019s Xbox One exclusive.<\/p>\n

While Quantum Break looks incredibly interesting, it\u2019s no Alan Wake, but writer Sam Lake said that the team would return to the Alan Wake world when the time is right.<\/p>\n

\"Alan<\/a><\/p>\n

Deep Down<\/h3>\n

Deep Down was first shown off at the Playstation 4 reveal event, and it got the gaming world buzzing as to whether it was gameplay or CG, and everyone thought it would be shown off at E3.<\/p>\n

Capcom didn\u2019t bring Deep Down to the E3 table, and not a whisper of the game was mentioned, which was sad, given how incredible the trailer looked.<\/p>\n
