While The Last of Us developers Naughty Dog have already received a jab from Ellen Page<\/a>, an artist has now claimed that the studio stole his work for the apocalyptic survival adventure.<\/p>\n

Cameron Booth, who works with subway maps, is the distressed artist, and says that Naughty Dog has been \u201cnaughty\u201d. Genius.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Boston T map used in The Last of Us PS3 game without permission or payment,\u201d said Booth on his Tumblr blog. \u201cBasically, I\u2019m f****** furious.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a software developer \u2014 especially a big developer working on a blockbuster title like this \u2014 to casually appropriate someone else\u2019s work and incorporate it into their game without any discussion with the owner of that work is completely unacceptable. (Not to mention hugely ironic, as the software industry is always complaining about piracy of their work.)\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNaughty Dog seems to have known that they couldn\u2019t use the official map without paying a hefty license fee, so it looks like they just went on the internet and found another one. Cos, you know, images on the internet are free for anyone to use, right? Not,\u201d he later continued.<\/p>\n

After the post went up and got some momentum around the web, Naughty Dog reportedly contacted Booth, and the two parties have seemed to have come to an agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve just spoken with Naughty Dog over the phone in a very constructive conversation,\u201d he said. \u201cCan\u2019t say more at the moment, but it seems as if matters will be resolved to everyone\u2019s satisfaction shortly. I can say that they do acknowledge their error in using my map and were very apologetic for it. I likewise apologised for my initial vitriolic post. A lot of mutual respect for each other\u2019s creative work.\u201d<\/p>\n
