{"id":55831,"date":"2013-07-01T12:25:41","date_gmt":"2013-07-01T10:25:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=55831"},"modified":"2013-07-01T12:27:21","modified_gmt":"2013-07-01T10:27:21","slug":"game-dev-arrested-on-child-porn-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/55831-game-dev-arrested-on-child-porn-charges","title":{"rendered":"Game dev arrested on child porn charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of Kickstarter\u2019s more-successful stories was that of Shadow of the Eternals, but the team behind it, Precursor Games, has encountered a controversy, as one of the developers has been charged with possession of child pornography.<\/p>\n<p>Kenneth McCulloch, 42, was arrested by the Niagara Regional Police in April 2013 on child pornography charges after a search at his home in St. Catharines, Ontario .<\/p>\n<p>The police seized a \u201csignificant\u201d amount of child pornography, charging McCulloch with possession of child pornography, making child pornography available, and accessing child pornography.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply upset by this,&#8221; said Precursor Games in a statement. &#8220;Having just learned of these disturbing charges today and based on the serious nature of them, Kenneth McCulloch is no longer affiliated in any way with Precursor Games.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_55830\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Kenneth-McCulloch.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55830\" class=\" wp-image-55830 \" alt=\"Kenneth McCulloch\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Kenneth-McCulloch.jpg\" width=\"600\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-55830\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kenneth McCulloch<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Precursor Games was staffed by many former Silicon Knights members, who became infamous for their long development periods and a legal battle with Epic Games.
