A new XCOM game looks to be on the horizon, as XCOM: Enemy Within has been confirmed by 2K Games, with an official announcement coming on 21 August.<\/p>\n
“We’re looking forward to making an announcement on August 21,” said a 2K Games rep to CVG. 21 August would be during Gamescom 2013, which would be an ideal time for 2K Games to announce a new title in front of a large audience.<\/p>\n
The news of Enemy Within originally appeared through a listing\u00a0on a South Korean game ratings board.<\/p>\n
The game was listed for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC, while the phrase “XCOM EW”\u00a0 also popped up on a Steam registry.<\/p>\n
Enemy Within is speculated to be an expansion for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, or maybe its own entity altogether.<\/p>\n
Developer of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Firaxis, also teased something in March, saying that a “new threat\u201d had emerged \u2013 this may have something to do with the Enemy Within listing.<\/p>\n
XCOM has been giving its fair share of revival love lately, with the franchise getting a reboot with XCOM: Enemy Unknown and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.<\/p>\n
