MSI today (8 August 2013) announced the Geforce GTX760 Hawk, the company’s fastest GTX760 yet and the highest factory-clocked model released by an Nvidia partner to date.<\/p>\n
MSI South Africa has announced that the card will be available locally, but a retail price has not been determined. Local availability dates have not been announced.<\/p>\n
The GTX760 Hawk is a new addition to the Hawk family, MSI’s lineup of budget-friendly mainstream graphics cards with a bit of their special sauce added.<\/p>\n
The GTX760 Hawk features a revamped cooler design called TwinFrozr IV Advanced, with two 100mm fans with redesigned impellers, a card shroud and paint job from the Lightning family, a new heatsink design that promises to drop temperatures by at least 10\u00b0C, and a neat little picture of the Stealth plane that inspired the card’s name – the Lockheed Martin F-117 Nighthawk.<\/p>\n
The Hawk has a number of high-end features usually reserved for the Lightning family, including dual BIOS accessed by a switch located near the SLI fingers. The Hawk can be set up in a quad-SLI array, but requires a beefier power supply than normal because the card needs two 8-pin PEG power connectors. This isn’t your usual GTX760 at all.<\/p>\n
MSI also includes a few more enthusiast features as well. On the end of the card there are three voltage measuring points that use a multi-meter, and the BIOS switch will allow the card to operate in “LN2 mode” (liquid nitrogen), which provides much higher overclocking frequencies when cooling the card to sub-zero temperatures. The voltage points allow you to measure GPU, memory and PLL voltages.<\/p>\n
The Hawk is also an interesting showcase of what MSI may be planning for the GTX780 Lightning, due for a release later this month according to a teaser trailer revealed by MSI<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
