Speaking to Game Informer, Dragon Age: Inquisition creating director, Mike Laidlaw confirmed that the character of Morrigan will return to the series with a significant role for the third instalment.<\/p>\n
However, Morrigan won’t be a playable party member character this time around.<\/p>\n
“The kernel of Inquisition\u2019s story we knew from about midway through Dragon Age: Origins. The story has been in the making for a very long time. The story of Inquisition is [Morrigan\u2019s] moment, which is a good way to think about it,” said Laidlaw.<\/p>\n
As has come to be expected of BioWare’s various RPG series, the player’s previous decisions will carry over and reflect in the latest instalment. Laidlaw confirmed that previous interactions with Morrigan, such as romantic involvement with the Grey Warden character, will be recognised, but the extent and impact of this will have to remain a mystery until the players lay hands on the game.<\/p>\n
Senior writer David Gaider said “[Morrigan] has a human role in this plot, which I think may surprise some people because they might only think of her as a plot device. She has this big plot she\u2019s involved in, and while that\u2019s true to an extent, I\u2019m taking her to a human place. That will make sense after the fact.”<\/p>\n
Dragon Age Inquisition is currently pegged for a Q3 2014 release for Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Launching in this windows means it will be going up against another dark RPG powerhouse \u2013 The Witcher 3.<\/p>\n
