Market research company Gfk has released its sales charts for the SA physical retail gaming market up to June 2013.<\/p>\n

This means we can compile the data for 2013 so far, and detail the top selling games across the major gaming platforms for H1 2013 (January – June).<\/p>\n

Below we have listed the most popular games at SA retail for the year so far. The games listed have appeared at least once on the Gfk top 5 sales chart over the first 6 months of 2013.<\/p>\n

Top selling games in SA by platform – Q1 2013<\/h3>\n

Gfk explained to MyGaming to what degree their sales stats represent the overall SA retail market.<\/p>\n

Gfk spokesperson S\u00f3nia Sengupta said they cover around 90% of the SA gaming retail market, and 95% of the SA gaming consoles retail market.<\/p>\n

Gfk does track online retailers, as well as both the physical and online sales of the retailers who have physical stores and that also perform\u00a0sales online, said Sengupta.<\/p>\n

The stats presented are gathered on a monthly basis from the retailers with whom the Gfk is in partnership.<\/p>\n
