A big release this week is Ducktales Remastered<\/a>, and with the mighty pantless duck making his return, we thought there are a number of other remakes and HD remasters on the horizon to note.<\/p>\n

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD<\/h3>\n

Nintendo announced that the HD remake of the Gamecube classic, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, will arrive on Wii U in October 2013.<\/p>\n

Besides running in 1080p, another unique feature to the remake allows players to send messages and screenshot in the form of in-game bottles, which will wash up onto the shore of other players\u2019 games.<\/p>\n

Disney Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse<\/h3>\n

One of the retro Genesis\/Mega Drive classics was Castle of Illusion, and Disney\u2019s iconic mouse\u2019s adventure is getting a revamp.<\/p>\n

Following the same style of gameplay as the original Genesis title, the game throws players into the yellow shoes of Mickey Mouse who must fight his way through the Castle of Illusion to rescue Minnie Mouse from an evil witch.<\/p>\n

Presented in high-definition 3D graphics, the game is largely played as a side-scrolling platformer like its predecessor, although some sections allow Mickey to move in multiple directions, such as puzzle segments.<\/p>\n

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles<\/h3>\n

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles will include the PlayStation 2 port of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.<\/p>\n

New cosmetic additions will be made such as illustrations and costumes. In addition, the European editions of Chronicles will feature dual audio, allowing players to select from either English or Japanese voice tracks for both games.<\/p>\n

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles will release in 2014, following an October 2013 release in Japan.<\/p>\n

Final Fantasy X\/X-2 HD Remaster<\/h3>\n

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the games, the Final Fantasy X\/X-2 HD Remaster features remastered versions of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.<\/p>\n

The games contain improved maps and character models and textures as well as improved lighting, shadows and enhanced pre-rendered movies with better quality in high definition. Final Fantasy X’s soundtrack has had about 60 tracks rearranged. Trophies for both games along with improved audio will also be added.<\/p>\n

No release date has yet been given.<\/p>\n

Oddworld: Abe\u2019s Oddysee HD (AKA Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty!)<\/h3>\n

A remake of Abe’s Oddysee is being developed by UK studio Just Add Water. The game, which is now titled Oddworld: New \u2018n\u2019 Tasty, is being built from scratch and features the classic side-scrolling gameplay redone in a 3D physics engine.<\/p>\n

Oddworld: New \u2018n\u2019 Tasty is slated for a release during the Holiday season of 2013 for the PC, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita, with a release planned for PlayStation 4 in 2014.<\/p>\n
