{"id":5725,"date":"2010-04-08T11:30:00","date_gmt":"2010-04-08T09:30:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"crysis-2-will-push-the-ps3-to-the-edge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/5725-crysis-2-will-push-the-ps3-to-the-edge","title":{"rendered":"Crysis 2 will push the PS3 to the edge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Crysis developer Crytek has announced that the game&rsquo;s boundary pushing sequel Crysis 2 will bring unparalleled visual quality to Sony&rsquo;s PlayStation 3 upon launch later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Although the console boasts a comprehensive list of graphically impressive titles, Crysis 2&rsquo;s lead PS3 designer Michael Gl&uuml;ck has told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nowgamer.com\/news\/2871\/crysis-2-ps3-will-hit-graphical-ceiling\" target=\"_blank\">Now Gamer<\/a> that he is confident the title will supersede those which have been released before it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With each generation of game titles on PS3, usually every 2 years, the games improve significantly in its quality, mostly showing off in graphics,&#8221;&nbsp; said Gl&uuml;ck.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think with Crysis 2 you will see the quality bar being set at a very high level that games will struggle to excel. We&rsquo;re aiming to set a whole new benchmark with that game for all PS3 games.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The developer also added that he does not see a large extent of further innovation Post Crysis 2.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Still with an AAA title shipped on PS3, you get the chance to improve further, so the next game developed with CryEngine 3 after Crysis 2 on PS3 will not be worse and rather be more polished and have higher quality in all areas. However, it is unlikely to see a major improvement in graphics as we try to not cut any graphical feature and rather optimize it until it becomes feasible.
