Using a dedicated search engine which brought over 500,000 users to the survey page, they were able to gather findings which reflect an unusually large user base.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent duplicate applicants, the survey made use of email addresses and session timers.<\/p>\n<p>The survey revealed the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>First time console failure rates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>42% of Xbox 360 owners have had a console replaced or repaired due to fault.<\/p>\n<p>8% of PS3 owners have had a console replaced or repaired due to fault.<\/p>\n<p>Less than 1% of Wii owners have had a console replaced or repaired due to fault.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br \/><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Second time console failure rates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of those who have had to have their first console replaced or repaired:<\/p>\n<p>55% of Xbox 360 owners had to have their second console repaired or replaced.<\/p>\n<p>12% of PS3 owners had to have their second console repaired or replaced.<\/p>\n<p>0% of Wii owners had to have their second console repaired or replaced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Third time console failure rates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of those who have had to replace or repair 2 consoles:<\/p>\n<p>39% of Xbox 360 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a third time.<\/p>\n<p>8% of PS3 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a third time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fourth time console failure rates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of those who have had to replace or repair 3 consoles:<\/p>\n<p>12% of Xbox 360 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a fourth time.<\/p>\n<p>2% of PS3 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a fourth time.<br \/><strong><br \/>Fifth time console failure rates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of those who have had to replace or repair 4 consoles:<\/p>\n<p>6% of Xbox 360 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a fifth time.<\/p>\n<p>1% of PS3 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a fifth time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sixth time console failure rates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of those who have had to replace or repair 5 consoles:<\/p>\n<p>3% of Xbox 360 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a sixth time.<\/p>\n<p>1% of PS3 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a sixth time.<\/p>\n<p>0% of Wii owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a sixth time.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, the Xbox 360 came in as the most unreliable console.
