We don’t ship a game at EA that is offline; just doesn’t happen.”

Moore has released a blog post that clarifies the “misinterpretations” about his message.

“Today, most games are ‘online’ in some way, shape or form. Many games connect in online multiplayer modes; others include online services which allow for periodic content updates, sharing stats or achievements or connecting with friends; and others are games downloaded through digital delivery methods like Origin or the App Store,” said Moore.

“What that does not mean is that every game we ship will require an online connection. Many, if not most, of our games include single-player, offline modes that you can play entirely without an Internet connection, if you so choose. We know that’s something many of our players want, and we will continue to deliver it.”

Peter Moore

Moore also tidied up the company’s message and actions going forward regarding the free-to-play model that EA is featuring in certain games, such as the Battlefield, FIFA, and Star Wars: The Old Republic games, along with the upcoming Command & Conquer.

“Many of our most popular franchises for PCs and mobile already offer free-to-play experiences,” said Moore.

“However, not all of EA’s games will offer a free-to-play mode. We will continue to explore new free-to-play experiences for our franchises when we believe there is gamer interest and a cool new game we can build. But of course we will continue to deliver award-winning core gaming experiences on all of these franchises.”

Source: EA

More EA news:

5 great features in Need for Speed Rivals

Battlefield 4 hands-on: 5 features worth fighting for

EA Gamescom showcase builds next-gen excitement

Next-gen sales to trump current systems: Riccitiello

EA COO Peter Moore makes his message clear regarding offline games, and the free-to-play model

[2
31,813,1994,11088,11089,1807,5170
post-57782","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","tag-active","tag-electronic-arts","tag-free-to-play","tag-moore","tag-offline","tag-online","tag-peter-moore
["GET
