Corsair has announced a new family of products at PAX Prime, consisting of five new headsets, a new keyboard, and two mouse mats. Corsair is aiming these products at gamers in the mid-range segment with products that still have a premium look and feel to them.<\/p>\n

SA distributor Rectron says that the headsets and peripherals will be available in South Africa, but has not been updated by Corsair as to when they will arrive. No pricing information was forthcoming.<\/p>\n

Corsair headsets<\/h3>\n

The lineup starts with the Vengeance 2100, Corsair’s new premium headset. It is completely wireless, supports Dolby 7.1 virtual surround sound, packs in two large 50mm drivers and has a padded headband, with a pleather surface. The Vengeance 2100 is rated for 10 hours of gaming with a operating range of 12 metres.<\/p>\n

The Vengeance V1500 v2 is an update to the existing V1500. It includes most of the features found in the V2100 headset, but is a wired model, omitting the need for batteries. The V1500 v2 is powered through a USB port and includes an in-line volume control.<\/p>\n

The Vengeance V1400 uses the same drivers, headband and microphone, but pads the ear cushions with soft cloth. It also lacks Dolby 7.1 virtual surround sound.<\/p>\n

The V2100, V1500 v2, and the V1400 have active noise cancellation through a secondary microphone located on the boom stick, facing away from the wearer.<\/p>\n

Two cheaper headphones join the new Raptor brand, which forms part of Corsair’s budget lineup.<\/p>\n

The Raptor HS40 has a solid headband, 40mm drivers, and lacks features like noise cancellation. It retains the virtual 7.1 surround sound feature and is powered through USB.<\/p>\n

The HS30 is similar in build to the HS40, but uses two 3.5mm audio jacks instead of USB and is stereo-only.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
