A new Xbox.com product page has revealed that up to 8 controllers can be connected to the upcoming Xbox One console.<\/p>\n
This is unlike the console\u2019s predecessor, the Xbox 360, which could only have 4 controllers connected at any given time.<\/p>\n
The inclusion of another 4 controllers puts the Xbox One above the PS3 in terms of controller support, which had the ability to have up to 7 controllers connected simultaneously.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has previously confirmed via Twitter that the PS4 will only support four controllers.<\/p>\n
The 8 connected controllers onf the Xbox One could work with certain local multiplayer games such as FIFA; however, there\u2019s no confirmation or details on what games can cater for 8 players.<\/p>\n
Another feature shown is that the Xbox One controls have a wireless range of up to 30 ft (9.1 m), and that there is seamless profile and controller pairing due to the infrared LEDs in the controller which can be detected by the Kinect sensor.<\/p>\n
