Ster-Kinekor has has completed an agreement with Imax corporation to install an Imax theatre at Ster-Kinekor Gateway by November 2013.<\/p>\n
Construction of the Durban theatre is set to start during September 2013, Ster-Kinekor said.<\/p>\n
According to Ster-Kinekor, Gateway is its flagship \u2013\u00a0and most successful \u2013\u00a0cinema complex.<\/p>\n
However, Ster-Kinekor said it is already considering some of its other sites that could accommodate the larger, floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall screen and complex infrastructure that the Imax format requires.<\/p>\n
The first Imax theatre will be finished in time for the international release of Thor: The Dark World, Ster-Kinekor said.<\/p>\n
It will be followed by the second film in the Hunger games trilogy, Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and then The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.<\/p>\n
