The long-in-development StarCraft 2 multi-player online RPG, StarCraft Universe, has finally reached its Kickstarter goal surpassing the $80,000 initial funding milestone.<\/p>\n
The pledged amount is over $84,000, but there is still 15 hours to go (at the time of writing) so the campaign could reach the $100,000 milestone, which would add a character class to the Zerg race.<\/p>\n
The money earned will allow for the free-to-play game get the infrastructure it needs, as well as provide backers with some extra goodies, such as virtual pets and a digital soundtrack.<\/p>\n
Originally called World of Starcraft, the game was first a mod when it was released via Battle.net in February by Upheaval Arts, and while it didn\u2019t feature multiplayer, the single-player build allows the developers to ensure the core systems work properly.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe objective of this game is to experience the universe of Starcraft from a third person view and master challenges and\u00a0missions. The focus of the game is to have a team of players\/friends creating\/customizing their own hero character which they use to battle together through enemy forces and powerful bosses,\u201d said Upheaval Arts.<\/p>\n
The game features custom maps, eight playable classes, advanced character customisation, mounted vehicle combat, and a uniquely built custom physics engine.<\/p>\n
