With all the hype about the next-generation of consoles, it\u2019s easy to forget that the Xbox 360s, PS3s and Wiis sitting in our homes still have plenty of life in them. So what games are on the horizon for our current-gen consoles?<\/p>\n

Watch Dogs – 22 November<\/h3>\n

While everyone is conversing non-stop about the visual quality of Watch Dogs, its also good to remember that Ubisoft\u2019s upcoming hack-and-shoot-\u2018em-up is coming to current gen systems.<\/p>\n

Watch Dogs will release on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U, and while these versions may not have the shiniest graphics of the multi-generational release, it still looks drop-dead gorgeous.<\/p>\n

Assassin\u2019s Creed IV: Black Flag – 1 November<\/h3>\n

The fact that Watch Dogs and Assassin\u2019s Creed IV are coming to current-gen systems shows Ubisoft\u2019s dedication to the consoles.<\/p>\n

Assassin\u2019s Creed IV: Black Flag on PS3 and 360 is the same game as the PS4 and Xbox One versions, albeit with slightly less “oomph” in the graphical fidelity.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll still get the massive scope, crazy naval battles, and sneaky throat-stabbings that you can expect from the next AC adventure.<\/p>\n

\"Assassin's<\/a><\/p>\n

Gran Turismo 6 – 6 December<\/h3>\n

Gran Turismo is one of the biggest franchises in gaming history and the long-awaited sixth entry is making its way to PS3 this December.<\/p>\n

The dedication of series creator Kazunori Yamauchi to the PS3 is commendable, and GT6 will be an exclusive that PS3 fanboys can boast over.<\/p>\n

Gran Turismo 6 will feature 71 layouts of 33 tracks, 1200 cars, a new flexible rendering engine that features adaptive tessellation, and a redesigned simpler menu interface with faster loading times.<\/p>\n

Batman: Arkham Origins – 25 October<\/h3>\n

Batman: Arkham Origins will tell the story of the early days of the Dark Knight\u2019s caped-crusading, and it’s only coming to current-gen systems.<\/p>\n

Developed by WB Games Montr\u00e9al, Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, where a bounty is put on Batman\u2019s head, giving every villain the incentive to try and take down Batman all on the same night.<\/p>\n

Scribblenauts Unmasked – TBA<\/h3>\n

While some may raise their noses to the Wii U or 3DS, there\u2019s no denying that they’re getting one of the most innovative and interesting games this season, Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure.<\/p>\n

Following previous games in the series, players take control of Maxwell who has the ability to manifest any object or person using his magical notepad. These objects can be used to solve each mission’s objective in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n

The notable feature of this game is the appearance of heroes, supervillains and locations from the DC Universe. The game features almost every character in the DC Universe, around 2,000 characters in total, ranging from popular characters such as Superman and Wonder Woman, to some pretty obscure ones.<\/p>\n

GTA 5 – 17 September<\/h3>\n

And arguably the biggest game of the year isn\u2019t even next-gen, so those who aren\u2019t willing to shell out for a new console just yet can find some comfort in holding onto their 360 or PS3 (while pulling the tongue at next-gen investors).<\/p>\n

The game is currently exclusive to current-gen consoles, and while the odds are that Rockstar may be planning a PC port, it doesn’t look like that’s happening anytime soon, so current console owners have something pretty grand to smile about.<\/p>\n
